What it is

A drapery rod that works like a Lutron shade

Palladiom drapery reimagines the traditional drapery rod. Where Lutron's Sivoia drapery is built to disappear into the ceiling, Palladiom drapery is built to be seen.

Launched July 2026

Lutron announced Palladiom drapery on July 20, 2026, and says it adds soft window coverings to the Palladiom family of shades and keypads.

One slim tube

A machined aluminum unibody tube hides the carriers, drive, and reinforcement. The rounded profile resists sagging while keeping the smallest visible diameter.

Hand-finished brackets

Solid aluminum brackets are machine-milled and hand-finished in five finishes, so the hardware looks like part of the architecture.

Pleats

Pinch pleat, ripple fold, and fullness

Pinch pleat gives a tailored, structured heading with pins looped through carriers. Ripple fold gives soft, consistent waves, attached with snap tape (compatible with Graber ripple fold snap tape). Lower fullness stacks smaller when open and spreads less when closed.

Draw

Left, right, center, and tandem

Pinch pleat center draw uses a 3.89 in overlap as standard or an 8.30 in extended overlap. Tandem uses a 3.15 in overlap.

Lutron's capacity chart covers every pleat style and counts the finished panel weight, including fabric, lining, and hardware carried by the system. The planner checks your design against this chart.

Size and mounting

Track length, clearance, and blocking

Up to 30 ft

A single track runs up to 12 ft without a splice, and up to 30 ft with one or two splices. A mid bracket sits at every splice.

Wall mount only

Palladiom drapery mounts to the wall. It needs blocking or other solid structure behind the drywall, and the installer picks fasteners for the wall.

1 in ceiling gap

Keep at least 1 in between the top of the track and the ceiling. Finials add 4 in of clearance on each end.

Straight tracks

Lutron specifies straight tracks for Palladiom drapery. Curved and recessed designs use Sivoia drapery.

Indoor only

Rated for 32 to 104 degrees F and under 90 percent non-condensing humidity.

35V low voltage

One QS drive unit per track, wired with low-voltage cable, and controlled over QS wired or wireless.

Planning the stack

Where does all that fabric go

The stack is the fabric left on the wall when the drapes are open. It is the part most often forgotten. If the track ends at the window edge, the open drapes cover glass and the view you paid for.

Stack grows with fabric weight, lining, and fullness. For a 216 in center-draw ripple fold track, Lutron shows about 30.6 in of stack on each side at 80% fullness, 32.7 in at 100%, and 36.1 in at 120%. That leaves 154.8 in, 150.6 in, and 143.8 in of clear opening.

Our drape planner draws your window, your track, and the stacks, then lets you open and close the drapes to see the result.

Fabric and fabricators

Lutron supplies the track. A fabricator makes the drapes.

Lutron drapery ships as hardware. The fabric and the sewing come from a fabricator, which is why the plan matters before anyone orders.

Design

We lay out the track, draw, pleat, fullness, and stack with you and your designer.

Fabricate

We send the fabricator the track, motor, and every part. They assemble the drapery onto the hardware, dry-fit it, test it, and package it.

Install

We install the track, hang the drapery, set stop points, and program it into your Lutron system.

Palladiom works with nearly any custom-fabricated drapery material. You can bring your own fabric, or we can introduce you to our fabric and workroom partners.

Questions

Palladiom drapery FAQ

What is Palladiom drapery?

Palladiom drapery is Lutron's automated drapery track for custom-fabricated drapes. Lutron announced it on July 20, 2026. It is an exposed, slender aluminum rod that hides the carriers, drive, and reinforcement inside the tube, and it brings the Palladiom design language to soft window coverings.

Is Palladiom drapery sold with fabric?

No. Lutron supplies the track, motor, brackets, and end treatments. The drapery fabric is custom-fabricated by a workroom, sometimes called a fabricator, to your chosen fabric, pleat, and lining.

What does the fabricator do?

We send the fabricator the track, motor, and every part. They assemble the drapery onto the hardware, dry-fit it, test it, and package it. When it arrives, we install it on site.

Does Smarter Homes sell and install Palladiom drapery?

Yes. We are a Lutron dealer in Austin. We design the layout, order the Lutron hardware, coordinate the fabricator, install the track, and program the drapery into your Lutron system.

What pleat styles work with Palladiom drapery?

Pinch pleat and ripple fold in North America. Lutron's specification also lists S-fold for regions outside North America. Pinch pleat fullness is 2x, 2.5x, or 3x (3x for sheer fabrics only). Ripple fold is 80%, 100%, or 120%.

What are the draw options?

Left draw, right draw, center draw, and tandem. Tandem pairs two tracks, each with its own drive unit and synchronized movement, for longer center-draw openings and heavier drapes.

How wide can a Palladiom drapery track be?

A single track is up to 12 feet without a splice and up to 30 feet with splices (two splices at most). Weight capacity changes with width, so a wide track carries less weight than a mid-width one on the D105 drive.

How much weight can the drives carry?

The D105 drive peaks at 85 lb and the D175 drive peaks at 125 lb. Both depend on track width. See the capacity table on this page, or use our planner.

Can Palladiom drapery curve around a corner?

Lutron specifies straight tracks only for Palladiom drapery. For curved tracks, 90 degree bends, or ceiling and recessed mounting, Lutron's Sivoia drapery is the option.

Can the track be hidden in the ceiling?

Palladiom drapery is an exposed rod and mounts to the wall only. If you want the track hidden, ask about Sivoia drapery in a recessed ceiling pocket.

What does Palladiom drapery connect to?

Lutron lists HomeWorks QSX, RadioRA 3, RA2 Select, and Caseta with Smart Hub PRO. It also works with standalone wired or wireless controls. It uses 35V low-voltage wiring and QS wired and wireless communication.

What finishes are available?

Pure White, Black Anodized, Clear Anodized, Bronze Anodized, and Satin Nickel. A finial with Swarovski crystals is listed as available to order in fall 2026.

Where does the stack go?

The stack is the bundle of fabric left on the wall when the drapes are open. It grows with fabric weight and fullness, so the track must extend past the window on the stack side or the drapes will cover glass. The drape planner shows this before you build.

What warranty applies?

Lutron backs Palladiom drapery with an eight-year limited warranty. It is for indoor use only.
