Whole-Home Lighting Control in Austin
One touch to set the whole house for dinner, for movie night, or for sleep. We design, install, and program Lutron lighting and shade control for Austin homes, new builds and remodels.

A house that sets itself up for how you live
Good lighting control is quiet. Hallways are softly lit at night without anyone fumbling for a switch. Shades lower before the afternoon sun hits the sofa. One button by the bed turns off everything downstairs. Nothing about it feels like technology, which is the point.
Lutron builds the lights, the dimmers, the keypads, and the shades to work together, so there is no stack of third-party bridges to babysit. Our job is the design, the installation, and the programming that make it feel right in your rooms.
Scenes
Save a set of light levels and shade positions to one button, then recall it from a keypad, the app, or your voice.
Schedules
Let lights and shades follow the day: warm and low in the evening, bright and clear in the morning, closed against the heat in the afternoon.
Control anywhere
Wall keypads, a touchscreen in the kitchen, your phone when you are away, or voice when your hands are full.
Three Lutron paths, and when each fits
These are our plain-language summaries. Lutron's own descriptions are on its residential systems page.

A fully custom whole-home system, designed for large and complex projects where every room, keypad, and shade is planned with your architect and designer.

RadioRA 3
A wireless, professionally installed system that suits remodels, phased projects, and homes where opening walls is not practical. It works with Lutron shades and keypads, and it can grow room by room.

Building new
The best results start before drywall. We work with your architect, builder, and lighting designer to place fixtures, size the control panels, pull the right wire, and plan keypad locations so they look intentional. A wired, fully custom system is easiest to do now.
Remodeling or upgrading
Most homes we visit already have walls, ceilings, and furniture in place. Wireless dimmers, keypads, and shades can often be added with limited wall work, and we can phase the work so you upgrade the rooms you use most first.
Try the controls with your own hands
A keypad feels different in your palm than in a photo. Our West Lake Hills showroom shows keypads in several finishes, scenes you can recall yourself, and light that changes from warm to cool to color. Visits are one-on-one and by appointment. See the showroom page for more.

Lighting control FAQ
What is whole-home lighting control?
One system that runs the lights, and often the shades, from keypads, a phone app, voice, schedules, and scenes. Instead of a switch per fixture, you press one button and the house changes: dinner, movie night, goodnight, away.
Which Lutron system is right for my home?
Lutron offers several residential systems, and the right one depends on the size of the project, how much is new construction, and how custom you want the result. As a rule of thumb, HomeWorks is built for large and fully custom homes, RadioRA 3 is a wireless system that suits remodels and smaller or phased projects, and Ketra is the light itself, which pairs with either. We confirm the fit after seeing your plans.
Can I start with a few rooms and add more later?
Often yes. Wireless systems are designed to grow room by room, and a good plan keeps the first rooms compatible with the rest of the house. Tell us the whole picture even if you build in phases.
Do I need to rewire my house?
Not always. Wired systems are best planned during new construction or a major remodel. Wireless dimmers, keypads, and shades can often be added to an existing home with limited wall work. A site visit tells us which applies.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The core lighting and shade control runs locally on the system's processor, so keypads and schedules keep working. Remote access, voice assistants, and app features that depend on the cloud need a connection. We design the network so this is rarely an issue.
Does it work with Alexa, Google, or Apple Home?
Lutron systems integrate with major voice assistants and platforms, and many homes also use Josh.ai for voice control. We set up and test the connections you want so they work every day, not just on the day of install.
What does it cost?
It depends on the number of rooms, the fixtures, the shades, and the system. We would rather give you an honest range after a short conversation than a number from a web page. Start with a showroom visit or a call.
