Lutron Rania Natural White Lighting in Austin
Lutron's three-channel natural white light, 1,800K to 5,500K, as downlights, lamps, track, and tape, designed and installed by Smarter Homes.
Natural white light from 1,800K to 5,500K
Rania is Lutron's three-channel natural white light. It uses Ketra's color-mixing approach to cover warm incandescent glow through midday sun in one fixture, with more depth and nuance than typical tunable white (Lutron Rania). It is white light only. For full color, choose Ketra.

- Rania fits rooms where white light quality matters and color is not needed: living rooms, kitchens, primary suites, and galleries.
- Ketra fits rooms where you want color, the highest accuracy, and linear fixtures. See Ketra.
- Lumaris fits cove, cabinet, and shelf tape where warm tunable white is enough and cost matters. See Lumaris.
What Rania works with
Lutron lists Rania with HomeWorks and with its commercial systems, and does not list it with RadioRA 3. Lutron's pages say "HomeWorks" and do not name QSX by version, so we confirm the exact processor and gateway on every project. Tape light also needs a Multi-Channel Wireless Controller and a power supply, and one controller drives up to 16.4 ft of high-output tape or 32.8 ft of long-run tape.

Rania FAQ
What is Lutron Rania?
Rania is Lutron's natural white light family. It covers 1,800K to 5,500K with CRI above 90 from 2,700K to 5,000K, and comes as downlights, lamps, track, and tape.
Is Rania the same as Ketra?
No. Rania borrows Ketra's color-mixing approach but is white only and lower in price. Ketra adds full color, a wider range of 1,400K to 10,000K, Vibrancy, and linear fixtures.
Does Rania work with RadioRA 3?
Lutron does not list Rania with RadioRA 3. It lists Rania with HomeWorks. For RadioRA 3 we recommend Lumaris.
Is Rania wireless?
Yes. Rania lamps, downlights, and tape controllers use Lutron's Clear Connect Type X wireless.
Can Rania follow the sun?
Lutron says Rania can take part in Natural Show, which adjusts intensity and color temperature through the day.
Does Smarter Homes install Rania?
